CORONA VIRUS
Our mail order service will continue as normal. We are experiencing long delays from some of our suppliers, both etchers and brass casters, many have been closed during the lockdown. Although most are now re-opened, most are experiencing problems and delays in buying materials, and getting deliveries. If an item you order is not in stock we will notify you, and back order it if you wish. We want to support our customers so we have now temporarily changed our postage charges. UK orders below £30.00 will remain at £2.00 P&P for UK orders above £30.00 will be sent post free.
AT SHOWS AND EXHIBITIONS.
We attend a number of exhibitions as listed on the Home page. We will usually have stock of most kits and other items or you can reserve items in advance for collection. Payment can be by Credit/Debit Card, cheque or cash.
ON-LINE PAYMENT.
At present we do not have facilities for on-line payment. Please DO NOT send your credit/debit card details via email, this is not a secure way to pay.
PAYPAL.
Following requests from customers we have set up a London Road Models Paypal account. If you wish to use this option to pay, please email me with your order. I will sort out the order and send you a Paypal invoice for the items in stock. Once payment is made the items will be dispatched through my normal postal system. I hope this is helpful to customers.
ORDERING BY POST.
Please print your name, address and order details clearly to help us. We can still accept payment by cheque, money order, or postal order. They should be crossed and made payable to LONDON ROAD MODELS. Mail order to London Road Models PO Box 643 Watford Herts WD18 6ZU
Payment can be made by credit or debit card, quoting your name, address, card number, start and expiry dates and the last three digits of the security code on the rear of the card.
Please note that we cannot send Phosflux or Solder paste by post. Regrettably we do not have the facility to accept telephone orders, also we do not have an online payment system at present. Experience has shown that some enquiries can be surprisingly trivial but very time consuming. Time spent dealing with these inevitably prevents kits getting packed and despatched, materials ordered, etc. Please can I ask that if you cannot find an answer to your enquiry on the web site, that you try to ask specific questions.
POST & PACKING.
UK post and packing is £2.00 for orders up to £30.00. For orders over £30.00 p&p is free. Due to the weight the Resistance soldering unit P&P costs is £ 9.05.
If goods are damaged in the post, please do not return them but retain the parcel with its original packaging and write immediately describing the extent of the damage. We will then be able to decide on the best course of action to resolve the problem. In order to comply with Post Office regulations goods damaged in transit must be notified to us within 21 days of posting.
EXPORT ORDERS.
London Road Models is not VAT registered; therefore we are unable to deduct VAT for overseas customers. We prefer payment by credit card or Paypal so that we can charge postage at cost to save you money, for loco kits and components please add 10% to cover post and packing, or email for a exact quote at cost. Resistance soldering units weigh 4.5 kgs and are consequently very expensive to post, please contact us for an at cost quote.
FAULTY GOODS.
All our products are guaranteed against faulty workmanship or materials. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that goods leave us in perfect condition, occasionally a defective part slips through. If you are unhappy with any item please do not hesitate to return it with a note of explanation and we will be happy to either replace it or refund the cost.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATION.
As part of this policy of improvement, from time to time we will amend the specification and contents of our kits to update them. You may therefore notice slight differences between the published description, or between different batches of kits.
Important health and safety information.
Solder and flux contain substances injurious to health. Do note breathe fumes and wash hands thoroughly after handling. Dilute flux spillages with water and mop up immediately .
PERSONAL CALLERS.
We are unable to provide a service for customers to collect orders.
PRIVACY POLICY.
London Road Models does not share customer information with any other person or organisation. We will only contact customers with product information in response to specific requests.
